60th Anniversary: Damon

Martha and William Damon of 24 Western Ave., Greenfield, observed their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 3, 2018 with a celebration at United Church of Bernardston hosted by their immediate family. There were more than 150 family and friends in attendance. The couple renewed their vows with the Rev. David Neil, pastor of the church.

The former Martha Graves and William Damon were married Nov. 22, 1958 at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield.

Mrs. Damon graduated from Arms Academy in 1958. She is a homemaker. She loves to cook and bake, and also can be found knitting mittens and hats for her great-grandchildren every winter.

Mr. Damon graduated from Sanderson Academy in 1955. He retired from Stop & Shop as a meat cutter. He can be found walking the streets of Greenfield daily.

The couple have three children: Kathy Nichols of Greenfield, Mary Williams of Montague and Steve Damon of Gill. They are also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
