Cinda Jones has plenty of land to find solitude if she wants it. The rest of us aren't so lucky and need the M&M trail to relax and rejuvinate. Her ancestors probaly took the land from the Indians anyways.
Richie Davis, thanks for writing this article. As for Ms. Jones, she clearly hasn't done a study, or even looked into, the economic boost that towns surrounidng National Scenic Trails and other major trails in the country provide. When hikers go through or near local towns, they stop and spend money to resupply for their hikes or just to stay in town for a night or two. It's well documented. Yet it's not surprising that someone who's the president of a "sawmill & land co.," and more interested in depleting our trees & vanishing landscapes, would oppose this trail protection.
