SPRINGFIELD -- Western Massachusetts Electric Co. has announced that the Winter Protection Program for the 2008-2009 heating season will end on May 1, an extension from the March 15 scheduled end date.

This shut-off protection is a load of hooey. If you don't have children and aren't over 65, they WILL turn off your power. I was without heat for 5 days in February, and that's after I paid the bill. Way to go with the "advertisement as news" Recorder...
