NORTHFIELD -- A group of parents of students attending the Northfield Elementary School plan to present a petition today to the Pioneer Valley Regional School Committee for the ouster of a teacher who they say bullies some students and is overly familiar with others.
The meeting of the School Committee is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. in the Pioneer Valley Regional School library.
Tim Hoisington, one of the Northfield parents, said that the problems with the teacher have been ongoing for many years, but the school has never taken any effective action.
''People have been coming to the principal for years and every time he acts like it's the first time this has been brought to his attention,'' the parent said.
Another parent, Michelle Laskoski, said that individual parents brought their complaints to the teacher herself and there was no change in behavior.
