Just Plain Neighbors: Hospice calendar highlights 12 county towns for fundraiser

[ Originally published on: Friday, December 11, 2009 ]

The 2010 calendar that Hospice of Frankin County is selling is different from most of the other calendars circulating this time of the year. Highlighting 12 towns of Franklin County, each page has three photos from that town and a quote from various poets and authors. The pages are very colorful.

For instance, in Buckland there's an old barn, a snow scene with bare trees and a hill behind and old farm equipment in the foreground. The quote:

''The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.'' -- Helen Keller.

On the cover is a dragonfly. Conway has the neo-classical Field Memorial Library, a butterfly and a farmer plowing with horses.

Hospice is asking for a $10 donation for the calendar, to support its work. You can order by calling Jayne at 774-2400 or stopping by at the office, 329 Conway St. There are a few of the calendars at World Eye Bookshop in Greenfield.
