CHIPLEY, Fla. -- Michael Jude Lane, 59, of Chipley, formerly of Belchertown, Mass., died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainsville, Fla. His parents, Francis and Agnes Lane, predeceased him.
He was a private first class Marine who fought in the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica Lane of Montague, Mass., and his son, Michael Jude Lane II; another daughter, Kim Wade of Webster, Mass.; one brother, Paul Lane of Connecticut and his wife Pat and their daughter, Pam; his four grandchildren, Hannah, Meredith, Jarod Brown and Victoria Veaudry, all of Montague, and his aunt, Kathryn Lane of Oxford, Mass.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Mass., 1390 Main St.
