GREENFIELD -- Greenfield Mayor William Martin said Tuesday that he is planning to announce further cuts to town departments on Dec. 9, including possible cuts to the police and fire departments. The announcement was made at the end of a Public Safety subcommittee meeting at the firehouse.
'I have no actual numbers, or dates for the cuts to take effect at this time,' he said.
The meeting was to discuss the ramifications of any cuts that might occur to the public safety departments.
Both Greenfield Fire Chief Michael Winn and Police Chief David Guilbault said that any further cuts to their departments would result in a considerable reduction in services to residents of the town.
