FLORENCE -- Kenneth R. Andrews, 75, of Winchester Terrace, died Friday (11-20-09) in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton.
Born in Adams, Feb. 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Edison and Ora (Remington) Andrews. He had attended Savoy schools.
Kenneth had retired after 39 years for the former Pro-Brush. He then worked part-time in the Maintenance Department at Smith Vocational High School. He also worked part-time for Bay State Building Maintenance.
He was a member of the Plainfield Grange.
He leaves his wife, Barbara (Williams) Andrews; his children, Allison Thayer and Raymond Phelps at home; sons, Randy of Leeds, Richard of Heath, Kenneth of Northampton and Kelly of Florence; daughter, Susan Doyle of Northampton; his stepchildren, Douglas Smith and Edward Smith of Greenfield; James Smith of Turners Falls, Barbara Renaud of Greenfield, Cindy Fisher, Raeline Phelps and Brenda Phelps, all of Northfield, and Laura Smith of New Hampshire; brothers, Sidney Andrews of Savoy and Dale Andrews of Turners Falls; sisters, Phyliss Gawle of Easthampton and Carey Rae ''Bunny'' Montville of Savoy; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Carver.
There will be a religious service on Friday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Drozdal Funeral Home, Northampton.
