FORISTELL, Mo. -- Our beloved, Glenn Wellington Remick, 58, of Foristell, died Monday Nov. 2, 2009, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Jan. 21, 1951, the son of Glenn and Shirley Remick. He attended St. Johnsbury Center Elementary and graduated from Greenfield (Mass.) High School in 1969. Glenn took various business classes and was an entrepreneurial.
Besides his wife of 34 years, the former Gloria J. Deneault of Greenfield; he leaves two sons and a daughter, Karl C. of St. Charles; Sarah J. and her husband Ronnie Coyne of Clarksville, Tenn., and Mark T. of Foristell; his dad, Glenn of Greenfield; a sister, Glennise Remick of Greenfield; a brother, Erik Remick and his wife Lisa of Hau'ula, Hawaii, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his mom, Shirley in 2002; a sister, Gayle Remick in 1994, and a brother, Gary Remick in 2008.
Glenn worked as the president of the American Darters Association for the past 19 years, the home office in Lake St. Louis Missouri. Throughout his life's career he aimed to make darts a respected sport and in doing so brought darts to a new level of play.
In 1977, Glenn and Gloria (along with the support of family and friends) formed the Western Massachusetts Dart Association (WMDA), 301 Darts & Hobbies, New England Dart Tournament Organization (NEDTO). He was also past president of the American Darts Organization (ADO), worked with the board of the National Darts Association (NDA), He was captain of the World Cup Dart Team (1985) and started the Darts Across the Atlantic program with the Northampton (Mass.) Chamber of Commerce in 1982.
His hobbies included the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, darts, brewing beer, traveling, taking pictures, motorcycle and bike rides, running and spending time with his ''little family''.
