[ Originally published on: Monday, November 16, 2009 ]

SHELBURNE FALLS -- For a few hours on Saturday, the Foxtown Coffee Shop was the safest place in the county.

From 11 a.m to 1 p.m., more than a dozen police officers from Buckland and Shelburne took over restaurant duties at Foxtown as part of the sixth annual ''Boys in Blue'' fundraiser.

For one day each year, officers from the departments put down their badges and sidearms and pick up spatulas and aprons to raise money for charity.
