SUNDERLAND -- Kenneth W. Duda, 65, of 317 Montague Road, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009.
He was born in Chicopee, March 7, 1944, the son of William and Eleanor (Tyminski) Duda. Ken was educated in Chicopee schools and graduated from South Hadley High School in 1961.
In early years, he worked on construction, a member of Teamsters Local 404. He owned and operated Duda Construction Co. from the early '60s.
Ken married the former Priscilla Farrick in Holy Name of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church, South Deerfield, on July 21, 1963 by the Rev. Francis Niemiec. They made their home in Sunderland.
He was a member of the South Deerfield Polish American Citizens Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his wife, Priscilla, he leaves one son, James K. Duda and his wife Carrie of South Deerfield; one daughter, Pamela Brown and her husband David of Northfield; one brother, Donald Duda of Chicopee; one sister, Cynthia Sterste of Southampton; four grandchildren, Paige Brown, Alexander Duda, Gabriella Duda and Zophia Duda, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wrisley Funeral Home, South Deerfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Holy Family Church with the Rev. Philippe Roux, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Sunderland Cemetery.
