Downtown Trick-or-Treat, Rag Shag Parade Thursday

GREENFIELD -- Young ghosts, ghouls, goblins, witches, cartoon characters, super heroes and more will join forces downtown Thursday evening to celebrate Halloween a little early.

Greenfield's downtown Trick or Treat event will be Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The event, co-sponsored by the town's Recreation Department, is for children ages 12 and younger.

Downtown trick-or-treating will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. with businesses handing out candy or treats. They ask that there are no early arrivals.

The traditional Rag Shag Parade will begin lining up at the former Herm's parking lot off Main Street at 5:30 p.m. The parade will be led by the Greenfield High School band and Greenfield Police. The Greenfield Fire Department will follow with a fire truck.

''It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!'' will be shown free at the Greenfield Garden Cinemas at 6:30 p.m.
