GREENFIELD -- Two years ago, Beth Cronk of Montague was part of Rays of Hope -- A Walk Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer -- in Springfield.
Her team leader was giving a television interview and talking about how one in eight women get breast cancer.
'I said, 'Don't let it be my girls,' Cronk said on Sunday, remembering that day.
Then, last year, Cronk was diagnosed with breast cancer.
But, five days after surgery, she was running in that year's Rays of Hope. 'Nothing can keep me down,' she said.
