GREENFIELD -- It will be at least October 2010 before the town conceivably joins the state's Group Insurance Commission.
The governor's office last week announced that cities and towns across the state are saving millions of dollars in health insurance costs because of the state-sponsored group health insurance plan.
Mayor William F. Martin, like his predecessor, Christine Forgey, isn't convinced Greenfield will see the same type of savings, however.
''Greenfield has not seen there would be enough of an impact in the past,'' said the mayor and former town councilor, who discussed the issue numerous times while serving on the council.
