Judge jails man in triple fatal car crash

[ Originally published on: Wednesday, December 30, 2009 ]

GREENFIELD -- Rage and disappointment were loudly expressed Tuesday in Superior Court by the families of three dead teenagers who watched the boy who caused the deaths be sentenced to jail following a guilty plea.

Frederick Adams, 18, of 147 High St., Athol, the sole survivor of an August 2008 car crash that left three teenagers dead in Orange, pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to three counts of motor vehicle homicide.

The families of the dead expressed their anger that the district attorney's office did not ask the court to impose the maximum sentence for each count consecutively, and tearfully expressed their disgust when defense attorney David Angier suggested that his client receive probation.
