GREENFIELD -- The phone at the Loyal Order of the Moose Family Center has been ringing off the hook ever since 21 people were left homeless by a fire that ravaged a Chapman Street apartment building.
The center has become the central location for the public to drop off donated items. It will accept donations until Saturday -- its doors are open at 3 p.m. each day.
Lodge President Phil Stevens said people can make monetary donations to the center, but that the money will go through the Order's bank account and they will decide who to give the money to, which he said would probably be to organizations like the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, who have been aiding the fire victims.
Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 718, Greenfield, MA 01302 and checks should be made out to Loyal Order of the Moose.
