Bob graduated from Turners Falls High School Class of 1965 where he was active in the music program, including marching and concert bands, orchestra and dance band, and was a member of the Pro Merito Honor Society.

Following graduation, Bob attended Bentley College in Boston, graduating in 1969 with a BS degree in accounting, summa cum laude. Upon his discharge from the Army, Bob rejoined KPMG Peat Marwick in Washington, D.C., where he served on the audit staff and was eventually promoted to office controller. From 1978 to 1982, he temporarily left KPMG Peat Marwick to work on Capitol Hill as controller for the National Governors' Association.

Bob retired in July 2000 as Associate Director of Internal Audit.

On April 18, 1998, Bob married Donna Mahr. Their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth, 17, is the love of their lives. In addition to love of family, Bob cherished time spent at their shore property in Ocean City, N.J., where he served as president and treasurer of his condominium association.
