Well, at least they won’t have to shovel the field today. Last year’s memorable Turkey Day contest between Athol High and Mahar Regional schools, a 14-6 Red Raider victory, was played in terrible conditions on O’Brien Field’s natural grass a day after the surprise Thanksgiving Eve snowstorm. A volunteer corps made the field playable, but the track scoring was slow indeed. This year, with the game being played on James S. Woodward Athletic Complex’s FieldTurf and a beautiful weather forecast looming , things should be different. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. Athol leads the all-time series, 48-30-1.
