Mahar Regional School made nine 3-pointers on Saturday night and edged rival Athol High School, 56-47, in a Hampshire League boys’ basketball game in Athol. Brenden Walker and Nick Slattery each connected for three 3-pointers and the Senators shot 9-of-22 from behind the arc. Slattery scored a game-high 17 points in the win, while Walker added 11. Drew Patria dumped in 8 points, Sam Paul netted 7, and Austin Leary added 6. Mahar led 9-7 after one quarter and 26-21 at the break.
