Bulletin Board: Frontier, Conway tie in indoor soccer play

Brady Finch, Brady Burch and Jake Whitney each scored once on Wednesday as Frontier played to a 3-3 draw against Conway Crush in a Under-11 Division boys’ indoor soccer game at Allsport Arena in Northampton.

Payton Sladeski and Jesse Johansmeyer each had an assist for Frontier. Dylan Martin and Jake Hanieski combined to make 24 saves in net. Cameron Wrisley and Dylan Robinson each played well defensively.

Frontier 13s fall

Natalie Denkiewicz scored on an assist from Caitlyn Devine but it was the only goal of the game for Frontier during a 4-1 loss to Hampshire United in a Under-13 Division girls’ indoor soccer game at Allsport in Northampton on Wednesday.

Sarah Zoly and Marisela Ackerman combined on 24 saves in the loss, and Marie Diemand and Jenna Martin played well defensively.

Middle school hoop

Mahar beats Great Falls

Hannah Paul scored 10 points on Wednesday as Mahar Middle School beat Great Falls Middle School, 46-0, in a girls’ basketball game.

Kailyn Patria scored 8 points in the win, and Sam Rowe added 6 points.


IAS events

Indoor Action Sports is accepting registrations for a pair of upcoming soccer events:

• The Makenzie Goode Memorial Co-Ed Soccer Tournament will take place on Dec. 28 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The tournament is 6 vs. 6 and open to adults 16 & up. Cost is $30 per player and a team must have a minimum of six players. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Makenzie Goode Scholarship Fund.

• The IAS Winter First Touch Soccer Clinic will be held on Dec. 27 and Dec. 30 from noon until 3 p.m.

The clinic is open to players ages 8-16 and players can register for one session or both. The clinic is run by Jake Thurber of FC Mass and Matt Schiffer of the Quabbin Soccer Academy.

Amherst College clinic

The Amherst College Baseball Winter Instructional Clinic will take place in January.

The Hitting Clinic will take place on Jan. 13 from 6:15 until 8 p.m. at the Calvin Coolidge Cage and will be divided into two age groups (9-13 & 14-16). The Pitching & Positional Play Clinic will take place on Jan. 15 from 6:15 until 8 p.m. and the clinic will be divided into the same two age groups.

Cost for one session is $60 and both sessions are $110. To register for the clinic, go to Amherst College baseball page. For questions call 542-2284.

Umpire clinic

The Hampshire-Franklin Baseball Umpires Association will conduct instructional classes for candidates for membership on eight Sunday evenings from January through March. No class will occur on Super Bowl Sunday.

The instructional course begins on Jan. 12 and runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deerfield Elementary School. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and the fee is $50.
