Bulletin Board: Deerfield routs Greenfield

Nathan Patterson struck out 10 and allowed just two hits and two walks over six innings to lead Deerfield to a 9-1 win over Greenfield in a Mickey Mantle baseball game Tuesday night at Headmasters Field in Deerfield.

Seth Gewanter went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Trevor Mankowsky went 3-for-3 with a run batted in. Noah Barnes, Brian Shaw, Bennie Bruscoe and Patterson each singled.

Tyler Jacques singled home Elliott Mousseau with the only run for Greenfield. Brett Miner suffered the loss.

Gillis MacDougall, Derek Lenois and T.J. Thibodeau combined on a one-hitter as Tognarelli Heating & Cooling bested Rotary Club, 8-4, in a Greenfield Minor League AAA Division youth baseball game Tuesday night at Lunt Field.

MacDougall tossed three no-hit innings with nine strikeouts to earn the win. Michael Pierce went 3-for-3, T.J. Thibodeau was 2-for-2, and Evan Burns and Joey Brook singled for Tognarelli.

Gabe Voudren singled for the only Rotary hit.

• Elsewhere, Dylan Demers doubled and tripled to lead Freedom Credit Union to a 9-8 win over 99 Restaurant.

Andres Hernandez and Ryan Demers each finished with three hits in the win, and Cody Houghton added two hits. Matt Houghton picked up the save.

Ian Simpson had two hits for 99, while Dylan Archer, Jayson Andrews and Billy Woodall each had one hit. Gabe Zaccheo pitched well.

• Finally, Luke Belhumeur collected two hits and an RBI to help Aubuchon Hardware defeat D&D Drywall, 11-5.

Ezra Christi RBI single added an RBI single for the winners, and combined with Alex Sulda for 15 strikeouts on the hill.

Michael Zager smacked an RBI double, M.J. Paulin had an RBI single, and Kris Bostrom and Brendan Moorehouse both singled for D&D.

Babe Ruth

Zack Avery tossed six innings of one-hit ball for the win as Turners Falls Athletic Club downed Tognarelli Heating & Cooling, 8-1, in a Franklin County Babe Ruth Baseball League game at Beacon Field in Greenfield.

Colin Cloutier led a balanced offense for the winners with a single and two RBIs. Avery and Tanner Jones both singled and drove in a run, and Kiernan Freeman singled.

Jared Ackerman and Peter Dowdy and the only hits for Tognarelli.

• In a Monday score reported late, Jones pitched a complete game to lead TFAC to a 17-5 win over St. Kaz.

Cloutier finished with two hits and four RBIs in the win, Brian Zamoski added one hit and two RBIs, and Jones collected a pair of hits.

MacKinnon Donnelly-Minshall led St. Kaz with two hits and two RBIs, and Hunter Campbell chipped in two hits.

Adult softball

Greenfield Co-Rec

Joe Gamache fired a two-hit shutout Tuesday night to lead Smitty’s Pub to a 16-0 win over French King Bowling Alley in a Greenfield Co-Rec Adult Softball game at Green River.

Derek Zellman went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Smitty’s, Cassy Jouannet went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and Matt Gilbert went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run.

Ron Vachon doubled and singled in the loss.

• In other action, Antonio Rodriguez went 3-for-4 and slugged a pair of home runs to lead RC Pratt to a 16-13 win over the Body Shoppe Tuesday at Hillside Park in Greenfield.

Ray Mailloux belted a pair of home runs in the win, and Kelly Burgh went 2-for-3.

Tyler Leroux went 4-for-5 in the losing effort, while Caleb Stempel went 4-for-5 with a home run and a double.

• Elsewhere, Marisa Dalmaso-Rode went 4-for-5 to lead Main Street Bar & Grille to a 21-7 win over Mesa Verde at Greenfield Middle School.

Don Mailloux went 4-for-5 in the win, and Janet Twyon went 3-for-4.

Mike Cole went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss, Shane Linscott went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Michelle Dawicki went 3-for-3.

• Finally, Abe Klein went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs as Red Door edged Victoria Bar, 9-6.

Donna Tanner went 3-for-3 for Red Door, and Nick Aldrich went 3-for-4 with a triple.

Connor Maloney went 3-for-3 in the loss, Cody Underwood went 3-for-3 with a home run, and Zariah Crossman added two hits.

Golf

Matt’s Men’s League

Ken Graves claimed low gross with a 36 in the Matt’s Men’s League on Tuesday at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.

Andy Wyngowski posted a 28 for low net.

Jim Bassett was closest to the pin on No. 7 (9 feet, 1 inch) and Greg Betsold was closest on No. 9 (18-9).

Edge Hill men’s

Lewis Goodnow and Mark Graves tied for low gross in the A Division with a 39 during the Edge Hill Men’s League Tuesday in Ashfield.

Mike Wall was a plus-4 on the night to win the point quota and won low net with a 32, while Ronnie Parker was closest to the pin on No. 6 (10-9).

Justin Mickiewicz won low gross in the B Division with a 40, and won the point quota with a plus-9. Jon Sonntag won low net with a 34, and Skip Heddens was closest on No. 6 (16-7).

Colleges

Locals at Stonehill

Two local athletes were named to the Stonehill College honor roll.

Former Frontier Regional School student Justine Mitchell and former Pioneer Valley Regional School student Shea Healy each made the list, which honors intercollegiate athletics students with a grade point average of 3.20 or better.

Mitchell is on the equestrian team at the school, while Healy is a field hockey player.

Basketball

DRIVE Men’s results

Mike Menard scored 28 points, and Robbie Burke added 27 to lead Dunkin Donuts to a 88-63 win over Green Field’s Market in a DRIVE Hoops Men’s Basketball League game at Pioneer Valley Regional School in Northfield.

Tyson Dowdy scored 20 points in the loss, and Thomas Manning added 12.

• In other action, Luis Arogot posted 29 points, and Tyler Hannon-Poole added 15 as Noho edged Bridgeside Grille, 77-76.

Paul Decker led Bridgeside with 20 points, and Pat Ononibaku dumped in 18.

• Meanwhile, Chris Brown’s 25 points led VT Nameless to a 81-75 win over Hunter North Security.

Christian Corey finished with 19 points in the loss.

• Elsewhere, Derek D’mours finished with 27 points, and Kyle Snow dumped in 23 as Taylor’s Tavern/Snow & Son’s Landscaping dumped Booska’s Flooring, 101-82.

Casey White finished with 19 points in the loss. Justin McCloud kicked in with 13.

• Also, Justin Mills scored 22 points as Berkshire Pizzeria clipped Keene, 76-71.

Ben Johnson netted 21 points for Berkshire. Ryan Blair led Keene with 16 points.

• Finally, Angelo Thomas scored a workman-like 17 points as Team DRIVE beat Bruso Computer Solutions, 90-51.

Joey O’Connell added 13 points in the win.

Tavon Bookman led all scorers with 18 points in the loss.

EDGE Summer Clinic

The EDGE Basketball Clinic will run in two sessions from June 30 until July 11.

The first session runs from June 30 until July 3 and the second session runs from July 7 through 11. Each day runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The clinic is open to players in grades 3 through 9 and costs $120 for the first week and $150 for the second week. Players attending both weeks will get $10 off per week and familys with multiple children attending will get the $10 per week discount. The objective of the clinic is to teach fundamentals, skills, concepts of basketball and to have fun.
