Bulletin Board: Upham hurls perfect game
Lucas Upham struck out 11 and pitched a perfect game on Monday night to lead the Erving Eagles to a 4-0 win over Northfield/Bernardston in a Tri-County League Cal Ripken Major Division baseball game at Pratt Field in Bernardston.
Ryan Bergmann finished with two hits and one RBI in the win. Twin brothers Kevin Reil and Jivison Reil each had a hit for Erving, and Jacob Kozma added a single.
Noah Fuess was the tough-luck loser, whiffing 15.
• Elsewhere, Jacob Quinn finished with five hits, including two doubles and a home run, as Northfield Blue beat Winchester, 32-7, in four innings.
Winning pitcher Josh Kirley hit a two-run home run and struck out nine in three innings. Pat Thayer added three hits in the win, and Rowan McKeon had two hits.
Evan Edson and Aaron Smalley had two hits each for Winchester.
Greenfield Minor League
Jack Loud, Nate Sciandra and Evan Leaf each pitched two innings and combined on a one-hitter as Denny’s Pantry knocked off Smitty’s Pub, 7-2, in a Greenfield Minor League Major Division baseball game Monday at Lunt Field in Greenfield.
Loud added two hits and two RBIs in the win. Josiah Beck added two hits and two runs scored, Anthony DeJackome singled, drove in a run and scored once, and Peter Loud scored twice.
Cam Baird pitched four strong innings in the loss, and Kyle White had one hit and one RBI.
• Meanwhile, Troy Emond went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple and four RBIs as Greenfield Elks Lodge bested Gilmore & Farrell Insurance, 18-7.
Ryan Cote earned the win in relief. Zach Renaud went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Elks, Jared Hart singled, doubled and drove in four runs, and Cameron Rice had two hits and two RBIs. Anthony Herd added two hits, and Jake Cote doubled and plated a pair of runs.
Brian Murphy finished with two hits in the loss, while Hunter Roberts, Jacob Bryant and Tucker Scott all singled.
• Finally, Kyle Devlin went 4-for-4 with four doubles and five RBIs to lead New Fortune Restaurant to a 18-5 win over Maniatty’s Real Estate in five innings.
Mason Stafford earned the win, Keith Broussard went 3-for-4, and Anthony Holmes went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Austin Wrisley and Hunter Drost each had two hits for Maniatty’s.
Nick Lyons and Dominic Smith each had two hits and two RBIs Monday night to lead Booska’s Flooring to a 9-4 win over St. Kazimierz Society in Newt Guilbault Community League baseball action at Campbell Field in Turners Falls.
Marcus Sanders doubled, singled and drove in a run, Dalton Henderson doubled and singled, and Jake Lyons singled and drove in a run. Tyler Noyes and Colby Mailloux combined to strike out 10.
David Carey doubled for St. Kaz, Jake Dodge singled and drove in a run, and Kyle Brunelle and Owen Toal each had one hit.
• In other action, Connor Waitkus struck out six to lead Pipione’s Sport Shop to a 4-3 win over Greenfield Savings Bank.
Jack Putala struck out eight in the loss. Jack Hamilton had the only hit of the game in the losing effort.
Aidan Falla went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Polish American Citizens Club to a 4-0 win over Yankee Candle in a Frontier Cal Ripken baseball game Monday night.
Falla struck out six in three innings of scoreless work and combined on the shutout with Ben Zaranek, who struck out four. Zaranek went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Chris LaBarbera struck out six in three innings of work in the loss, while Thomas Lyons struck out four in two innings of relief.
• Elsewhere, Ken Moulton went 2-for-3 and Poplar Hill Machine edged Paciorek Electric, 8-6.
Colin Petis went 2-for-2 in the win, and Troy Letourneau scored twice.
Matt Como went 3-for-3 in the loss, while Owen Morse doubled.
• In a 50/70 game from Saturday, Jankowski Plumbing lost to Northampton PD, 8-1, in Sunderland.
Matt Gardner struck out four and allowed two runs for Jankowski. He also singled and scored the lone run. Thomas Graves logged an RBI single, and Corbin Blight also singled.
Nicole Miner struck out nine and walked 13 to lead Greenfield Middle School to a 34-9 win over Amherst in a middle school softball game Monday.
Audrey Bresciano went 6-for-6 with nine RBIs in the win, and Samantha Smith belted a three-run home run and a two-run triple as part of a six-RBI performance. Marissa Sullivan hit a two-run double in the win.
Frontier SL tryouts
The Frontier Suburban League summer softball 12 and under and 14 and under teams will hold tryouts on Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the varsity softball field at Frontier Regional School in South Deerfield.

Marshall Sisson, Mike Cormie and Nate Pecor each had two hits Monday and St. Stanislaus Society edged Main Street Bar & Grille, 13-12, in a Montague Co-Rec Softball League game in Greenfield.
Chris Arsenault and Frank Stumpo each had two hits in the loss.
• In other action, Brad Stafford and Paula Lavoine each had four hits to lead Between the Uprights to a 25-9 win over Montague Mini Storage.
Nick Orsini had three hits in the win, and Scott Curtis played well defensively.
Shane Foster and Matt Deane shot a 38 to win low gross during the Monday Night Skins League at Northfield Golf Course.
Lloyd Grover and Bill Holbrock won low net with a 35. Jason Wallace was closest to the pin on No. 6 at 12 feet.
Steve Jones shot a 36 to win low gross during the Monday Night Men’s League at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls.
Chris Varilly was closest to the pin on No. 7 at 15 feet, 3 inches. Jones leads the league with 19 points, whlie Shawn Hubert sits in second place with 17 points.
Mark K. Memorial
Jon Snow, Al Blanchard, Dave McCarthy, Donna Yetter and Linda Morey shot a 60 to win the Mark K. Memorial Monday Night Mixed League at Oak Ridge Golf Club in Gill.
Gene LaCoy, Dick West, Ron Bovat and Bob Mott came in second with a 64.
Luke Leyden finished with three goals and one assist on Monday and Northfield Mount Hermon School defeated Williston-Northampton School, 9-3, in a boys’ prep lacrosse match.
Paul Butler finished with two goals in the win, and Peter-Owen Hayward recorded one goal and one assist. Alex Bloom, James Gittzus and Kevin Gross each scored once, while Jordan Dow and Christian Heidelberger registered two assists apiece.
Tabor Academy swept NMH in a baseball doubleheader over the weekend.
Tabor took Game 1 by a score of 8-1 and then edged NMH 4-3 in Game 2 to sweep the double bill.
Luis Locsin singled and drove in a run during the Game 1 loss, while Ben Freeman singled and drove in two runs in the second game.
