Bulletin Board: West County baseball sign-ups Saturday

West County Babe Ruth Baseball teams will hold registrations Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Mohawk Trail Regional High School in Buckland.

Registration forms are also available at The Optician on Bridge Street in Shelburne Falls.

Players must be ages 13 to 15 (as of April 30), and cost for registration is $100 per player.

West County Mickey Mantle registration will also be taken at this time.

Soccer

Officials courses

The Connecticut Valley Soccer Officials Association will conduct an instructional course for candidates for membership during April and May.

Classes will meet on five Thursday evenings between April 3 and May 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All classes will convene at Deerfield Elementary School on Pleasant St. in South Deerfield. Cost of the course is $50.

Members of the CVSOA officiate scholastic soccer matches during the fall. Members must be 18 years of age or older.

High schools

GHS baseball drive

The Greenfield High School baseball team will hold a bottle and can drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at Ruggeri’s Beverage & Redemption Center on Deerfield Street in Greenfield.

Anyone wishing to have a player from the team drop by and pick up cans and bottles can call Tom Suchanek at 774-4535. Bottles and cans may also be dropped off at Ruggeri’s during this time.

Adult softball

Montague Rec registrations

The Montague Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registrations for new teams interested in joining the Co-ed Adult Softball League.

The league is ASA-sanctioned with umpires and team registration is $550. The season runs from May through August, and games are held on Monday and Thursday evenings.
