Bulletin Board: Mahar trims Wave, 44-29

Ryan Donaldson netted 12 points to help Mahar Middle School beat Greenfield Middle School, 44-29, in boys’ basketball action Monday in Greenfield.

Brendan Mailoux contributed 10 points for the winners.

Jake Desreuisseau-Suhl hit for 7 points and Colin Cloutier had 6 for Greenfield (10-6).

• In the girls’ game, Mahar edged Greenfield, 26-24.

Kylee Monkiewicz paced Greenfield with 10 points.

DRIVE League

Pat Lipskowski poured in a game-high 42 points to power Taylor’s Tavern/Snow & Sons Landscaping Service to a 89-72 victory over Dunkin Donuts in a DRIVE Men’s Basketball League game Sunday night at Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield.

Cody Snow added 14 points for the winners.

Tyson Dowdy netted 26 points and Mike Menard chipped in 14 for Dunkin Donuts.

• Elsewhere, Team DRIVE used 26 from Angelo Thomas and 16 from Brendin Kordana to defeat Shelburne Farm & Garden/Hilltown Tents, 92-77.

Ben Johnson led all scorers with 29 and Tyrone Henderson threw in 16 for SF&G/Hilltown.

• Finally, Ben Frutkin’s 21 points helped Noho beat Bruso Computer Solutions, 85-69.

Dom Ferrante led BCS with 10 points.

Youth basketball

DRIVE AAU tryouts

Tryouts for the DRIVE Hoops AAU boys’ teams will be held on March 1 at Hopkins Academy in Hadley.

Boys in grades 4 through 7 will try out from 10 to 11:45 a.m., while those in grades 8 through 12 go from noon to 1:45 p.m.

Cost of the tryout is $10 per player. Parents are asked to bring the child’s birth certificate.

Rapid Fire 3-on-3 sign-ups

Collins-Moylan Arena will hold on-site registration for the upcoming Greenfield Rapid Fire 3-on-3 Hockey League on Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Cost for the season is $99 per player, and all Mite-Bantam players are eligible. The league runs from March 3 to April 6.

Newt registrations

The Newt Guilbault Community Baseball League will hold registrations during the upcoming weekend.

Registrations will take place at the Montague Police Department community room on Saturday from 10 noon, and Sunday from noon until 2 p.m.

The league is open to residents of all area communities except Greenfield, Mohawk and Frontier. Cost is $75 and bring a birth certificate to the registration.
