Greenfield, Feb. 26

11:28 a.m. — A woman received a call from a man, who was screaming and yelling at her about his cat being injured and needing surgery. She knew nothing about the cat. There was no answer when called back.

11:53 a.m. — Miranda Sevene, 23, of Bellows Falls, Vt., was arrested on a warrant at the Greenfield Police station.

4:20 p.m. — Two hawks reportedly fell out of the sky into the parking lot at Lipton Inc. on Mohawk Trail, leaving them dead, an employee reported.

7:46 p.m. — A vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Chapman Street, involving a 17-year-old female. Eversource arrived on the scene to get the power back on.

8:44 p.m. — A caller reported a dog in distress that was sitting in a Cadillac Deville in front of King’s Gym on Main Street. Police found the dog not in distress. Police alerted the owner action may need to be taken for when the dog is in the vehicle during times when it’s too cold or too hot.

9:06 p.m. — A reported overdose at the Sandri Stopmart on Federal Street.

Greenfield, Feb. 27

2:13 a.m. — Steven C. Smith, 22, of Barber Avenue was arrested on six counts at Juniper Court: assault and battery on a 60-plus-year-old or someone who is disabled, causing an injury; assault and battery on a family or household member; three counts of vandalizing property; and intimating a witness.

4:44 p.m. — A report of a woman in a turquoise Toyota Corolla circling around the industrial park, near the Coca Cola Bottling Company. Police spoke with her and she said she lives nearby and sometimes drives around the area to get out of the house.

8:39 p.m. — An altercation between five males at Taylor’s Tavern, an employee reported.

Greenfield, Feb. 28

11:30 a.m. — Cassey J. Platek, 30, of Taylor Hill Road, Montague, was arrested on three warrants by Greenfield Police.

Greenfield, March 2

12:39 a.m. — Report of a person who overdosed on Plantation Circle.

1:10 a.m. — Three windows were reportedly smashed out of a rental car and a woman was left bleeding, near the Freedom Credit Union on Main Street.

5:11 a.m. — An older couple on Lincoln Street reportedly has two chihuahuas that are defecating on a person’s property and sidewalks.

Montague, March 2

7:51 a.m. — A two-car crash sent one vehicle into an embankment on North Leverett Road, trapping the driver temporarily. Neither driver was injured in the accident.
