‘Labor Day’ trailer now online
SHELBURNE FALLS — We still have to wait at least until Christmas to see “Labor Day,” the Paramount Pictures movie that was shot in and around Shelburne Falls in the summer of 2012; but promotional trailers of the film are now available online, showing glimpses of Shelburne Falls and Turners Falls.
The official movie trailer shows a few scenes in stores and on State Street in Shelburne Falls. There is also a shot of the old Strathmore Paper Mill and canal in Turners Falls.
But most of the preview scenes show close-ups of the main characters in an old farmhouse.
The movie, starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, will open in New York and Los Angeles on Christmas Day, and then will be released for national distribution in January.
Besides the local landscapes and stores used in the movie, many local residents worked as extras in some of the street scenes.
