Greenfield Recreation Notebook

Winter Carnival: Save the date for Greenfield’s Winter Carnival, Jan. 31 to Feb. 2. Events include ice carvings, fire dancers, fireworks, ice skating, sledding, photo contest, sleigh bell run, family fun fest, Breakfast with Frosty, K-9 Keg Pull, horse-drawn hayrides, ski and snowshoe demos, chili cook-off, cookie bake-off, cardboard sled race, and so much more. A schedule of events is available on the town website.

February Vacation Week: Sign up today for February Vacation Week, a fun filled week of activities, games and outdoor fun for your child kindergarten to grade 7. This program is held at the Youth Center, 20 Sanderson St., from February 18 to 21,8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walking field trips to Beacon Field for sledding, skating and snow fun! Lunch, afternoon snack, and beverage must be sent with child. Morning snack provided. Children also must bring appropriate winter clothing (boots, hats, gloves, etc). Registration deadline is Feb. 3. Residents, $100; non-residents, $125.
