Letter: Creative economy

On Sept. 10, there was a Creative Economy event that brought 50 artists and art supporters together to network and ignite new collaborations. The Economic Development Council has been organizing the Plug Into the Creative Economy event the second Tuesday of each month and rotating around the Pioneer Valley. The September event was co-sponsored by Fostering Art and Culture Project (FACP), a collaboration between organizations and artists to foster the creative economy in Franklin County. FACP runs a monthly BUZZ event for artists on the last Wednesday of the month and the Creative Economy Summit. The next time the Plug Into the Creative Economy will return to Greenfield is in March.

A special thank you to Ed Wierzbowski for sharing the Arts Block space, Berkshire Brewing Co. and the Smithsonian Restaurant for supporting the Creative Economy.

The FACP invites artists and art supporters to attend on Wednesday Oct. 30, 6 to 8 p.m., and again beginning in January to June.
