Letter: To a plant thief

“Disappointed” (Definition made unhappy by the failure of one’s expectations.)

To the person or persons that dug up a beautiful bleeding heart plant across the road from my house at 31 Mountain Road, Erving. That plant started from a small piece that was tossed out inadvertently with weeds several years ago. It just so happened that was a perfect place for that plant, getting the right amount of sun and nutrients, because it flourished beautifully. It was admired not only by myself but others as they were out for a walk up Mountain Road.

Hopefully, it will do as well for you, but it is my experience that bleeding hearts are not that easy to transplant. You know that they sell them at garden centers for under $10. That may have done better for you.
