Letter: Keep me out of it
In the March 13 issue of The Recorder, I was quoted erroneously.
Since then, I have been approached and ridiculed for my “comments” in The Recorder.
This totally disenchants me. Here’s why:
I specifically stated on two occasions that I did not want my name connected to anything this individual produced, for good reasons.
There’s a world of difference between not understanding something and finding fault with it. I’ve never been in a cop’s shoes and I’ve never done actual police work, therefore it would be stupid of me to criticize the profession for it’s strategies or techniques. Ergo, I don’t.
However, I do know:
A thesaurus is a poor substitute for a comprehensive vocabulary and proper context.
An individual should make every effort to ensure their “quote” is accurate before submitting it for inclusion in any given format, (including the responsibility of securing permission to use it). Please do not associate my name with anything written in the March 13 issue of this paper.
