Letter: Voting for Andrews
I have witnessed firsthand the kind of relationships my state representative, Denise Andrews, has built throughout the communities of the 2nd Franklin District as it has expanded from six towns to 12. Denise knows that the way to learn about and support district towns — both current and new — is to go where the people are and ask them what’s on their minds. She attends local and regional meetings, charity events, community functions, fairs and festivals and offers her help. She shops and eats in small local establishments and asks the proprietors how things are going and what they need for success. Then she listens, really listens.
Whether she’s engaged in conversation at a local event or on a door-to-door visit, I have seen what the constituent sees: an authentic interest in the concerns of other people, a sincere desire to help, and the expression of true kindness in all she does. On any given day, without fail, Denise is approached by an area resident expressing gratitude for her help in navigating complex agencies, accessing needed services, following up on questions or just taking the time to chat. She receives a warm welcome wherever she goes.
My Greenfield friends and neighbors and I have Denise’s assurance that we will be well represented by her fine colleague, Rep. Paul Mark. Still, she will be greatly missed here in the “old” part of the district. She will continue to work hard and care deeply for all the towns she currently represents and is more than ready to serve and to advocate for the seven new communities of the 2nd Franklin.
In short, Denise Andrews is the genuine article; please cast your vote for her on Nov. 6.
