Letter: The wage issue
Without mentioning individuals’ names, I’m sick of all the complaining about Walmart. There are thousands of businesses across the country that pay low wages. It isn’t their fault. It’s our, the people of this country’s fault, to allow the minimum wage to be so low. So people, please stop complaining, and put your energy toward raising the minimum wage to a respectable figure, immediately, not in three or four years down the road. Compare what the minimum wage was in, let’s say 1965, to the price of a loaf of bread or a gallon of gas, to what it is today. I dare say, the minimum wage should be double of what it is now. We all should be ashamed of ourselves. Who knows, maybe some of the so called, unemployed would even want to work.
