Letter: Baseball on the radio
The good news is that the Red Sox defeated Detroit and for the third time since 2004 will play in the World Series, facing off against the St. Louis Cardinals. The bad news is that this series, like the last, will be broadcast by Fox News. They are terrible! Has anyone noticed how bad the announcers are, that you can barely hear them through the too-loud fan noise and that there are at least five ads (very repetitive ones I might add, pun intended) for every half-inning, causing the games to be even more prolonged. Ahhh ... but there is a solution that will make any Red Sox fan happy. Mute the TV and turn your FM radio dial to around 105 and you will find a station with great announcers (read good New England attitude), detailed analysis and the descriptions come about five seconds before you see the play on TV allowing one to prepare for what is coming. I highly recommend this technique!
