Letter: Holyoke mayor’s gamble
I found it appalling that Mayor Alex Morse ran an anti-casino campaign and now has switched his views. When a mayor can change his views once winning the election, it makes me question whether or not any politician truly believes in their ideals that they tell the people.
My uncle had a gambling problem when I was younger and is now thankfully over the addiction. He is now against gambling and casinos all together and would vote for a mayor who states he is opposed to casinos.
Voters should be outraged over his change of views. He has a duty to stick to his values and not lie to the people he is going to be leading.
Citizens look for a honest man who they believe has the best ideals and who will follow through on promises. Alex Morse is the opposite of this.
This should be a wake-up call to people that people often run with certain ideas without fully believing them and with no intention on following through on them.
