Letter: Source material
In response to Ms. Novak’s letter titled “Bigoted Source,” here it is: (And for the record, my source was not as you put it “definitely Power of Prophecy.”) Perhaps I was wrong in not listing the specific source, and just listed some of the conclusions drawn and stated that the study was “commissioned by the CIA.” I figured that showed enough credibility, and give people enough information if they wanted to research it further. Seems I was mistaken?
So, to satisfy you and any others who might have further questions about the conclusions drawn in the draft for the study and the source, here is the specific source:
Franklin Lamb, PhD, wrote an article, titled “America planning for a post-Israel Middle East?” based on a leaked draft of a study done by a group of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, known as the “U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). The IC was established by president Ronald Reagan on Dec. 4, 1981, during the Cold War era.
Mr. Lamb’s credentials are as follows: He was former assistant counsel, U.S. House Judiciary Committee and professor of International Law at Northwestern College of Law in Oregon, earned his law degree at Boston University and his LLM, M.Phil., and PhD degrees at the London School of Economics. Following three years at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Lamb was visiting fellow at the Harvard Law School’s East Asian Legal Studies Center.
I am sure that with those credentials we can consider the source a credible one, Ms. Novak.
And thank you for your comment Ms. Novak and putting me on the track to setting the record straight.
Oh, and I am not inclined to reading “right wing bigoted sources,” as you eloquently put it.
