Letter: Re-elect Ronhave
When you vote for Steve Ronhave, the councilor for Precinct 4 where I live, it will be a wise choice, because he has been an effective member of Greenfield’s council for some years. In addition to the significant issues he has worked on, he supports Mayor Martin in the vital effort to bring decent jobs to our town. Steve Ronhave is dedicated and experienced in what is needed to keep Greenfield growing, sustainable and vibrant. He believes it is important to give back to the community and has put in countless hours on various committees, including Ways and Means (which deals with all matters of expenditures and the budget) and the Economic Development Committee. The latter deals with planning redevelopment, housing, sale of town-owned land, commerce, tax incentives and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Sometimes I attend Greenfield Town Council meetings, sometimes I watch meetings on GCTV. Each time, I am impressed at all that is involved, from the long hours to the thoughtful way council members consider the town’s issues, many of which are complex. Council meetings are conducted in a reasonable manner, even when there’s differences of opinions. In the 12 years I’ve lived and voted in Greenfield, I find that we now have a council that is open and inclusive and takes the time to listen to and try to respond to residents’ concerns.
This is an important election. If you’ll be away on June 10, stop by Town Hall and vote there or get an absentee ballot. A vote is too precious to waste.
