Neighbors: Enjoy the beautiful weather

Hello neighbor.

Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful week. Temperatures are supposed to be in the mid 70s and 80s, with maybe a little rain mid-week. Get out there and see Franklin County. Can you believe fall is just around the corner?

I’m sorry this column is so short today, but my dad is back in the hospital and I’ll be traveling to Boston at least a couple of days this week.

Take care and be well.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE CHAIR? The Deerfield Arts Bank wants you and your chair to join it today from 6 to 8 p.m. or Sept. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. so that local artist Anne Taylor can photograph you with the chair for a photo-montage to be included in the DAB’s next exhibit: “Chair Dreams, Interpreted by Visual Artists.” The opening of the community project is on Sept. 14.

For more information, contact the Arts Bank at 413-665-0123 or visit: www.deerfieldartsbank.com.

Participate in this community project and remember to bring your chair. Deerfield Arts Bank, 3 Sugarloaf St. in South Deerfield.

DON’T FORGET THAT THE GREEN RIVER HOUSE will open Club Café in the bus depot on Olive Street in Greenfield on Sept. 2. The café will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Stop by and have some Pierce Brothers coffee and a yummy treat.

For more information, call 413-772-2181, ext. 204.

OUR SUNDERLAND NEIGHBOR Barbara White, co-owner of Blue Heron Restaurant & Catering, says the Amherst Survival Center will be holding its Trash 2 Treasures event on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Amherst Town Common.

The center will sell affordable “gently used furniture” to help out students and others as they move into new apartments this fall.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the center, which helps more than 5,100 people throughout Hampshire and Franklin counties.

For more information or to donate furniture that’s in good condition, visit: www.amherstsurvival.org.
