Several Berkshire Gas business customers have recently reported receiving fraudulent telephone calls seeking immediate payment of their Berkshire Gas accounts, by credit card, over the telephone, the utility has reported. The caller claims that the account is overdue and requires immediate payment. Several of the fraudulent calls have showed up as originating from 617-419-5406 in the recipient’s caller ID.
