Neighbors: Have a great weekend

Hello neighbor.

Not much to say today. As I write this, my dad is being admitted into intensive care at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. I guess my sister and I, along with the rest of the family, just sit and wait at this point. I will let you know what happens.

Have a great weekend!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, but don’t have a lot of time? Join an all-volunteer team of like-minded citizens to serve on a rotating, on-call basis to remove graffiti and litter from the streets of Greenfield. Supplies will be provided by the Greenfield Public Works Department.

For details, call Trouble Mandeson at 413-668-6997 or at cleanupgreenfield@gmail.com.

A SHOW OF CONTEMPORARY ART QUILTS will be on display at the Buckland Public Hall on Upper Street during the weekend after Thanksgiving. The opening will be Nov. 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. and the show will continue Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Artist Susan Garfield-Wright has studied with important fiber artists and teachers, including Gwen Marston, Carol Taylor and Nancy Crow.

There will be refreshments and music on Nov. 29.

Funds will be raised for two nonprofits, including Cancer Connection in Northampton and Partners for World Health, which raises money to provide sewing machines and support women in Bangladesh.

SOUTH DEERFIELD CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH at 71 North Main St. will hold its Sugar Plum Fair on Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, theme baskets, baked goods, greens, ornaments, soy candles and more. Free coffee will be served and lunch will be available.

ERVING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL’S PTO is trying to raise money to buy two pieces of equipment for a musical playground at the school. It has been a dream of Emily Samuels, one of the school’s music teachers, for many years.

It will definitely enhance students’ musical education.

The goal is to raise $5,000, so the PTO has started a GoFundMe account.
