Letter: Puzzling choice
Yesterday, the governor of Connecticut signed historic gun control legislation in response to the pleas and demands of the people of Connecticut. This is a good story about the power of the people to move their political representatives to take (bipartisan) action they feel is in their best interest and a sane response to our tragic culture of violence.
Yet The Recorder chose to ignore this story (other than a photo of the governor, pen in hand) and carry an AP piece titled, “Laws, rumors have ammo flying off store shelves.” This piece details the behavior and opinions of those who fear loss of access to more and more ammunition and more deadly weapons. I feel so disappointed that you wouldn’t have covered the core story here. “What’s up with that?”
