Vt. teen killed in Rowe crash

ROWE — It was a Vermont teen who died Saturday in a one-vehicle late night crash.

The district attorney’s office identified the victim as Nicholas E. Boyd, 18, of Whitingham, Vt. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he received in the crash, according to a statement from First Assistant District Attorney Steven Gagne.

The two other occupants of the vehicle were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries Saturday. The district attorney’s office did not release their identities, and their conditions could not be confirmed Monday.

A Dodge Dakota pickup carrying the three was traveling north on Potter Road when it went off the left-hand side of the road and crashed into a tree at about 11:30 p.m.

Potter Road crosses the state line into Boyd’s hometown.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident, according to Gagne.

The cause or causes of the crash remain under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
