SHELBURNE FALLS — Oct. 12, the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum will celebrate Trolleyfest 2013 with a “barn raising” fundraiser for a new car barn for the museum’s trolley.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m, the museum grounds will offer music by Burrie Jenkins, cider pressing, rides on the trolley and the wooden caboose, railroad movies and the unveiling of an example of box car art executed by Caleb Neelon, an internationally known public artist.
The fundraising shifts to the Eagles Club on State Street for evening festivities. These include a cash bar at 5:30 followed by a buffet at 6:30. After the meal, many prizes will be raffled, among which are local gift certificates, an antique brass trolley bell; copper trolley art; and a pair of Dinner Train tickets on the Cape Cod Central.
Dinner is $21.50 for adults, $10 for children 5 to 10, and children under 5 are free.
