Letter: Naive to think otherwise
I’m writing in response to the letter from Mr. Brian Eno, which appeared in The Recorder of Aug. 26. Mr. Eno is shocked — shocked — to discover that it should be Republicans, of all people, who would seek to portray the voting record of Rep. Denise Andrews in an unfavorable light. Well, of course, they’re Republicans. It would be naïve to suspect otherwise; it’s what politicians do. I’m sure that, come the general election campaign, Rep. Andrews and her supporters will do what they can to portray the record of her opponent in an unfavorable light.
By the way, it’s interesting to note that Mr. Eno apparently does not dispute the accuracy of the information in the MassFiscal.org mailer. If he does, he didn’t mention it, except to say that the authors were “creatively arranging facts” to support their positions. Finally, considering his admonition to “be honest about who you are,” and in the interest of full disclosure, he might have identified himself as an aide to Rep. Andrews.
