Domestic dispute and smashed windows lead to charges for Orange man and his brother

GREENFIELD — An Orange man and his brother from Springfield were arrested Tuesday after the two smashed the windows of a home on Riverside Drive during a domestic dispute.

At 11:48 p.m., Greenfield police responded to 39 Riverside Drive, where there was a fight involving several people. At the house, a group of people outside the home told police the suspect, Mack Kenny Daniels, 22, of 72 North Main St., Orange, had gotten into an argument with a woman, whom he shoved to the ground. After leaving the residence, Daniels and his brother, Tevin D. Daniels, 20, of Springfield, began smashing the front windows of the home, police allege.

According to court records, Tevin Daniels punched the windows of the home while Mack Daniels threw objects, leaving two windows completely smashed.

Police quickly found the two brothers hiding behind the laundry room in the area of 17 Riverside Drive. Tevin Daniels was brought to Baystate Franklin Medical Center for cuts on his hands.

Police arrested Mack Daniels on charges of destruction of property over $250, malicious domestic assault and battery, a harassment protection order violation and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned in Greenfield District Court on Wednesday. The pretrial conference is scheduled for Sept. 22.
