Letter: Seen clearly
I very rarely write letters to the editor, but felt compelled to do so at this time. It is with great sadness that Glen Nichols is closing his doors in Turners Falls. I went there to get my latest pair of glasses and was very happy with the service provided.
Since I had a limited amount of money to spend, I asked him what he could do for me. He came up with a great pair of frames at a reasonable price and within a reasonable time frame. I also appreciated the fact that he was in my town. I didn’t have to hassle with parking and traffic.
Go ahead to BJ’s or Wal-Mart, or better yet, try J.C. Penney. You wil not get the individual and good service that Mr. Nichols provided. Feel lucky if they even remember you. How about when you need a simple adjustment on your “specs” — go all the way to Greenfield or to the mall — pay the inflated prices. Like the old saying goes: “You don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone.”
To Mr. Nichols: I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do. You are a wonderful person, kind and understanding. The service you provided will never be duplicated.
