Leyden voters to see race for Planning Board

LEYDEN — A two-way race for a Planning Board seat is the only contest on the ballot for the May 18 town election.

Incumbent Warren Facey Jr. of North County Road is challenged by Clifford Spatcher of West Leyden Road for the five-year Planning Board position.

Incumbents running for three-year positions are: Constable Vanessa Russell of Frizzel Hill Road; Library Trustee Carolyn Asbury of North County Road; and Selectboard member Barbara Wallace of Alexander Road.

Bruce Kaeppel has decided not to run for another three-year term on the Board of Assessors, and Board of Health member Linda Romano has decided not to seek re-election to her three-year position.

John Rogers of Lois Lane was nominated for the three-year Board of Assessors seat, and Kathie Benson of Keets Brook Road was nominated to a three-year seat on the Board of Health.

Moderator Katherine DiMatteo of George Lamb Road and Tree Warden Edmund Klaus seek re-election to their one-year positions.
