Four seats contested on Leyden Planning Board

LEYDEN — Four candidates for two Planning Board seats are on the ballot for Saturday’s annual town election.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Town Hall.

Warren Facey Jr. and Lance Fritz are running for a five-year seat on the Planning Board. Facey is a member of the Agricultural Commission and a veteran of the Planning Board, unseated after losing last year’s election by three votes. Fritz is a former selectman and current Finance Committee member.

Andrew Baker and William Harris compete for a two-year seat on the Planning Board. Harris is currently serving in the position, and was appointed to fill a vacancy after a resignation. Baker is also on the Planning Board, finishing a five-year term this year.

Uncontested incumbents running for three-year positions are: William Glabach for selectman, Robert DePalma for assessor, Erik Johnson for constable, and Cornelia Reid for library trustee. Ellen White seeks a three-year term on the Board of Health, and Katherine DiMatteo seeks re-election to a one-year term as moderator.
