GCC seeking yearlong beer or wine license
GREENFIELD — Greenfield Community College has applied for a new annual beer and wine license to avoid continually seeking day licenses when local organizations hold functions at the college.
President Robert Pura said that throughout the college’s history, organizations have routinely rented out space for events. If the groups want to serve or sell beer or wine, the college needs to secure a license from the town for that day, he said.
The number of organizations that use the space continues to increase, said Pura, and it will be easier to obtain an annual license rather than to keep having to apply for day licenses.
The Board of License Commissioners will hold a hearing on the college’s application on Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. in the Town Hall’s second-floor meeting room.
