Franklin County Register of Probate Merrigan endorses Lynch for Senate

GREENFIELD — Franklin County Register of Probate John Merrigan has endorsed Congressman Stephen F. Lynch in the U.S. Senate race to replace John Kerry.

“I had the pleasure to serve with Congressman Lynch in the Legislature,” said Merrigan. “He is a dedicated public servant who puts his heart and soul into helping the working men and women of the commonwealth. He will take their voice to the U.S. Senate.”

“I am honored to have the support of Register Merrigan,” said Lynch. “During my time in Congress, I have always been the kind of representative who comes home every week to visit the cities and towns in my district. The senators, reps, mayors, and elected officials in my district know I will work with them to support our local communities. With the support of Register Merrigan and other local leaders, I will carry that commitment with me to the U.S. Senate.”

More than 80 labor organizations and a number of other elected officials across the commonwealth have endorsed Lynch in his Senate run. The primary election is April 30.

Lynch is running against fellow Congressman Edward Markey.
