Solar farm hearing in Rowe tonight
ROWE — The Planning Board holds a public hearing tonight on a proposal to build a 36-acre electricity-generating solar farm on Tunnel Road land owned by Robert and Mary Ann Dykeman. The 6:30 p.m. hearing will be held at the Rowe Camp and Conference Center.
Seaboard Solar LLC is seeking a special permit to build a 6-megawatt photovoltaic array within the middle of a 100-acre parcel. The plan is to build the solar farm at least 1,700 feet from the road, with 130 feet of woodland separating the array from the views of neighbors. The double racks of pole-mounted solar panels will be 10 feet tall. There will be a maintenance road, detention pond, two inverters and a transformer on the site.
